The Governance of AANCART
National Steering Committee
AANCART's National Steering Committee serves as the governing body, providing overall guidence and establishing poplicy. The Steering Committee reveiws and ensures AANCART's plans and activities to make sure that they are scientifically sound. It guides the development and implementation of population specific cancer control and prevention activities. The Steering Committee fosters collaboration. It also apporves research plans for joint research projects and pilot studies.
Members are drawn from across the network and represent the community , researchers,
clinicians, advocacy groups and public health officials.
Community Advisory Council
The Community Advisory Council is made up of community leaders and directors from each region of AANCART. The Community Advisory Council is responsible
for identifying community needs, best practices, research ideas, and for the implementaion of projects. The National Community Director, and chair of this committee, brings thier reccommendations to the National Steering Committee.
